kx3 mod request and stuff

RICHH
Here is something I would like.
A 30 watt kx3.  Same size and output 30 watts.
Maybe this could be a modification.
While I am dreaming how about a compact easily managed highly efficient
SOTA antenna.
thanks  Richard

Re: kx3 mod request and stuff

Don Wilhelm
Richard,

Can't figure out if you are trolling or not.

If you can figure out how to dissipate the heat in the small KX3
enclosure, it could work, but you would have to carry a heavy battery to
power it.
The KXPA100 is one solution, you can throttle the power back to 30
watts, but you still need a large battery for portable unless you have
access to AC power where you can use a power supply such as the SS30DV
resold by Elecraft.

For your SOTA antenna, Elecraft has the AX1 antenna - collapses to 6
inches and works on 20, 17 and 15 meters.
