line in and out

Eric-232

Hi,

Anyone else also having problems with the Microham K3 cable? Mine
does with the line-in line-out jacks, they don't make a good contact.

Is there a difference between 3,5 mm jacks and the US equivalent?

Mine work ok too (DigiKeyer), only comment is that they are labeld as if
coming from a Pc, therefore PC IN goes into the Line Out on the K3 etc.

K3 transverter design

Eric-232

Is anyone at Elecraft already thinking about redesigning XV to the K3XV look?

Maybe bigger footprint, more then one XV in that enclosure?

Personally I'd like to have a K3XV144/432, having that I could sell
my TS2000 :-)

You don't need but one interface.  All Elecraft XVTRS have the ability to be
daisy chained so that the control of each can be from the same connector.

Go to the web site and download the K3 manual and the one of the XVTR manuals to
see how it is done.

Perhaps a cabinet could be done by a third party?

Maybe end plates for stacking two, three or four XV's (if Elecraft
ever comes up with an XV1200, or for those who might have a 4M
conversion), and repainted and relabeled front and rear panels, with
fillers between them.

Or a full cabinet that used the XV boards, and the extra width for
cooling.

losing FL5

Eric-232
In reply to this post by Doug Faunt N6TQS +1-510-655-8604

Hi

Seems I lost my 200 Hz filter after the update. In config the filter
is ON, everything looks OK, but al sigs are lost when FL5 kicks in
when turning WIDTH.

Anyone else having this problem too? Or did I win the RTFM contest today?

Re: losing FL5

Hi Eric,

This should not have happened. You may need to re-set the filter's
center frequency using the FL5 FRQ menu entry. Typically the 200-Hz
filter has an offset of around -0.90 kHz.

Also make sure that FL5 BW is set to 0.20, and that you have REFCAL
properly calibrated against a reference signal.

Hi Wayne,

After some filter swapping, it looks like the 200 Hz filter is dead.
It wasn't during the ARRL CW test, last time I used it, so I guess
it's a coincidence and has no connection with the software changes.

PS: no visual problems on the 200 Hz board, all leads are clipped
short etc. Anything I could do myself?
