I've got a coupla questions about the mini coax jumpers used in the K3 and
many other radios. Please see: http://n1eu.com/minicoax.jpg 1. What is the proper name for that connector? 2. Is there any way to extend a cable for test purposes? Is there a female-female connector that would join two of these together? Thanks guys!
Anybody happen to have two TMP sockets lying around or alternately a 14in or longer cable with a TMP plug on one end (I would solder the other end temporarily for test purposes)? Thanks & 73, Barry N1EU

Barry,
You must have missed the link to The RF Connection webpage in a prior post. Take a look at http://therfc.com/taiko.htm. OTOH, if you are looking for a gratis donation, I don't have any and cannot help. 73, Don W3FPR On 1/29/2011 4:14 PM, Barry N1EU wrote: > Thanks guys! > > Anybody happen to have two TMP sockets lying around or alternately a 14in or > longer cable with a TMP plug on one end (I would solder the other end > temporarily for test purposes)? > > Thanks& 73, > Barry N1EU > > > > Amateur Radio Operator N5GE wrote: >> >> The Type Name is TMP Connectors, MANUFACTURED by the Taiko Denki Company. >> >> 73, >> >> Tom Childers >> Radio Amateur N5GE >> Licensed since 1976 >> QCWA Life Member 35102 >> ARRL Life Member >> Retired Professional >> C# Software developer >> http://www.n5ge.net >> >> On Sat, 29 Jan 2011 17:17:16 +0100, Peter<[hidden email]> wrote: >> >>> Barry N1EU schreef: >>>> I've got a coupla questions about the mini coax jumpers used in the K3 >>>> and >>>> many other radios. A couple of times during the CQ160 contest, I would lose rx audio on the main rx. The subrx was unaffected. Since I had a LPPan panadapter hooked up I could tell that it wasn't just the audio output as the panadapter display was also clear of signals. (I was using N1MM logger through a microham Station Master). Everything came back to life without any heroic measures (although I'm not sure what I did to make it work. I sure did fumble with the controls in a random, hectic fashion). I did not check transmit while it was in this state. I will pay more attention during future (if any) occurrences but figured I'd report this in case others have seen it.
