mojo, sunspots

Chris Kantarjiev K6DBG
The sun may actually be coming back. I have been watching the smoothed sunspot
number climb from 0 to 29 over the past several days, and the solar flux has
finally crept up a bit (at 78 as I write this).

This has compelled me to get up early (1300-1400z) to hunt for DX... SM4OTI has
been booming across the pole on grayline to the west coast for the past several
nights. I've gotten his attention a couple of times, but he could never copy my
K2's mighty 5W (+mojo) signal.

Until today. He gave me 339, which was probably generous, and QSL'd my 559.

Whoopee, a new one, and my first EU contact in months! I'd almost forgotten what
this feels like...

Got him Wed.  DX calling "CQ USA" ... not a common occurrence.  Steve
sure was strong, however.
