Hi Chris.
I find the DSP to be a must have item. On ssb the correct setting would quiet the rx to such exstent that you dont need the squelch to monitor a frequency. Same apply to cw and in same time you have the abillity to narrow down bandwith. One area where I find most useful is in digital modes. We know the xtal filters in the K2 can shift by couple of 10hz making psk31 a little difficult to do if you not doing it the right way , so I use for psk and rtty my K2 set for OP1 in rx which is the same filter for tx. I then narrow the bandwith with the dsp. Just set up the dsp with the center frequency of your choice and program 4 bw where I suggest af1 to be full bw. Workes like a charm. The K2 is actually a very good psk31 radio. Hello,
A few weeks ago, someone posted a procedure for reseting a K2. It was a sequence something like holding the 4,5 and 6 buttons while powering up. What is the sequence? Does it reset everything, filters, sidetone etc to it's factory settings? I could not find it in the manual or in the archives. Thank you in advance for your help. You've got it--
1. Turn the K2 off. 2. Hold down the 4, 5, and 6 keys 3. Turn the K2 back on. The EEPROM will be re-written with the factory defaults for all settings, which will require that you re-run all of the calibration functions again. BTW, it's on Page 106 of the manual. 73, Dave K7DAA http://www.k7daa.com On Mar 25, 2008, at 8:37 PM, DW Holtman wrote: > Hello, > > A few weeks ago, someone posted a procedure for reseting a K2.
