new K3

Mike Baird
I'm just setting up my new K3 #5947.  I ordered it with the sub RX
installed.  There are two issues I am trying to resolve.  First, on pwr on,
I get ERR DVR message on screen.  Second,  when I tap SUB to activate the
sub rx, I get static in the speaker from the 2nd rx, but it' s not receiving
any signals.  I've only tried it using the same band as the main RX.  I only
have one antenna connected, but I assumed that the 2nd RX could be tapped
from it on rx.  I do have the auto tuner installed, no KXV3.  Any hints
would be great.

Mike,

Enter BSET and look at the subRX antenna indication on the display.  Is
it the same as that on the main RX?  If so, the sub should receive on
the same antenna as the main RX (there is a 3 dB splitter in line).

If the sub is trying to receive on its AUX ANT input, that will be the
BNC jack for a factory built K3.  You may change that to use the KAT3
ANT that is not being used by the main RX by changing from the BNC input
connector to the KAT3 by installing the extra TMP cable that was shipped
with your K3.

So - yes, if the subRX ANT selection is the same as the main RX, you
should hear the same thing in the sub as you hear in the mainRX.

I cannot comment on the ERR DVR messages - I will leave that for someone
else who has experience with the DVR.

Re: new K3

Guy, K2AV
ERR DVR is most likely having the KDVR3 marked NOR (installed) in
CONFIG:KDVR3 when in fact it is not installed. That is the simple
reason.  73, Guy.
