K4JQV
Greetings;
I'm new to the K2; just got SN 2676 10w CW only,  with firmware 2.04P 1.09. I put in the audio filter option.

I wonder.... how excited should I be to do some mods like the CW waveform mod, the BFO mod, and the PLL temp compensated mod. Things like this that really just get it current. Will this really enhance the rig? All things equal, these are inexpensive things so I'll likely order them Monday anyway, but does anyone have thoughts on whether or not I'll notice a change?

Thanks;
Jacob K4JQV

PS - I did notice a kind of soft click or pop when keying sometimes - is this what the related mod addresses?

Jacob,

You asked whether you would notice changes like the CW Waveform Mod -
well, you may not notice, but your ham neighbors will be able to notice
the difference since you will no longer be creating keyclicks.

Yes, I would recommend that you install all the upgrade mods.  Start
with the K2ATOBKIT and install ALL the changes, whether required or not.

Your K2 stability will be improved and your ham neighbors will not e
offended.

The click or pop you mentioned may or not be related.  If you have the
KPA100 on that K2, also install the KPA100UPKT and if the shield kit is
not up to date, install KPA100SHLDKT as well 0 that has a good chance of
curing some of the clicks and pops.
