what I have done is put a bandpass filter in line with the K3 & antenna..the one I had that worked best was one made by Gold Line for CB'ers, its nothing more than a pi network, cap/coil/cap and its tuneable from 13 to 73 megs,
it worked better than the one made by ICE...
now I can set IF NOR-7 all the way to WIDE-7 and don't have the apperant overload problem.
so far it seems to do the job. once and a while I hear a pop, so I still have to play with the settings..
So now to the VHF hand book and look up that strip line filter for 6..
