Did you check the K3's SYNC DATA function described in the AMTOR/PACTOR section of the manual?
The K3’s SYNC DATA feature can be used to minimize T-R delays (it forces the same crystal filter to be used for both receive and transmit). Locate CONFIG:SYNC DT. Assign it to a programmable function (e.g., by holding PF1 ), then exit the menu. 73, Markus HB9BRJ / AE6MG |

hi Susan,
I have been sending an answer twice, and have seen that it arrives as an empty posting on the list. I have no idea why this happens, but I try again - this time with a cc to myself to check my mail system. I wrote: PTT to PTT in RCA connector RX Audio - Line out RCA (stereo) TX Audio - Line in RCA (mono) Transceiver Control Connector TxD-V24 (pin 13) -> RS232 pin 2 RxD-V24 (pin 17) -> RS232 pin 3 TGND - (pin 18) -> RS232 pin 5 When you have your cables right and get no mod out you have to check the microphone and Line settings in your K3. Mode is DATA A, USB Menu Function Sync DT -S on Menu Mic Sel Line in I suspect you have the mic selector wrong or Line gain turned low. When you adjust Mic Gain, "Line" should appear in the K3 display. 73! Werner oe9fwv -- Going the speed of light is bad for your age.
