plugging unused holes in back panel

Vk2NU
Hi All,

A little while back I solicited ideas for filling up the unused holes on the
back panel of the K2.

I received various suggestions, but in the end I bought a selection of Heyco
Hole Plugs from Mouser, and just tried the different sizes until I found one
that fit.

XVTR in and out holes on the top panel were filled with Mouser P/N 836-2617
(I would imagine these plugs would also fill the 2x Antenna Sockets if you
have no ATU and the RX antenna socket if you have no 160m option). Note that
these plugs were tight fitting and I needed to soften the plastic slightly
to get them through.

XVTR in and out holes on the heat-sink panel were filled with Mouser P/N
836-2603.

I also filled the AUX I/O hole with an old DB-9 connector from my junk-box.
Sorry I have no suggestions for the battery Switch hole as I have the
battery option installed, although I would imagine you could just buy the
switch from Elecraft for a reasonable price.

At the same time I changed the BNC connector on the RX antenna to a RCA
socket, as my existing RX antenna was already wired up for this arrangement.

The finished job looks professional, and in my opinion, a lot better than
the original green tape !!

Hope this helps someone out in the same predicament...

Regards

David, VK2NU
