I use the Astron 20M. It's got plenty of current capacity to power the
K2/100 to full output plus some extra for accessories without staining.
Some ops like lots of reserve current and want to be able to power other
rigs that demand more current or more than one rig at a time so they opt for
the much larger Astron 35.
The 20 is rated at 20 amps intermittent commercial service. The K2/100
typically demands about 14 to 18 amps intermittent service (voice peaks or
key down CW at 100 watts output)
These are linear supplies, very quiet electrically but fairly heavy due to
the large power transformer inside. Also, you don't want to put them closer
than about 18 to 24 inches to the rig. Most rigs, actually, because the
strong a-c field can induce hum in the rig.
I run my Astron on a stool under the operating desk. That keeps it away from
the rig and saves space.

Subject: [Elecraft] power supply for K2
What's a good power supply for the K2 / KPA100? I.e., 110vac to 14vdc
