Judging from what I have seen of the average building and solder quality, I
would worry about the reliability of any kit.
Some of the worst solder I ever saw was from the old TV repair days.
But most solder problems are easy to fix, all the Elecraft parts are new, so
they solder nicely.
I have an old Leader O scope in the shack, which had a problem with the
display jumping horizontally.
In going over the solder, all kinds of nasty old flux came out of most
connections, and the overall quality of the solder joints was very bad.
I got a good price for the first K2 I built...
