I'm getting closer to possibly ordering more gear from Elecraft - question -
I see a picture from the Elecraft web site that shows the K2 on top of a KAT100 Automatic Antenna Tuner - is the K2 just sitting on top of the KAT100 or is the KAT100 attached to the K2 in some manner? - - I'm leaning towards getting the 100 watt amplifier that fits in the top of the K2 - I have an Astron RS-20M power supply for the 100 watt amplifier - it would be helpful if I can receive replies from amateurs who have this setup or similar - also, does anyone run this type of setup using a 12 vdc battery? - tnx & 72 Bruce ve5rc _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Bruce,
The normal configuration is to have the KPA100 mounted in the top of the K2 and the KAT100 separate. Yes, the KAT100 must be connected to the K2 with 2 cables. One is coax to connect the KPA100 output to the KAT100 ANT IN jack. The other is the control cable which allows the K2 to communicate with the KAT100. The materials and instructions for building the cable are provided with the KAT100. Note: the base K2 (without the KPA100) does not have the connector for this cable unless the KIO2 is installed. 73, Don W3FPR Bruce Rattray wrote: > I'm getting closer to possibly ordering more gear from Elecraft - question - > I see a picture from the Elecraft web site that shows the K2 on top of a > KAT100 Automatic Antenna Tuner - is the K2 just sitting on top of the KAT100 > or is the KAT100 attached to the K2 in some manner? - > - I'm leaning towards getting the 100 watt amplifier that fits in the top > of the K2 - I have an Astron RS-20M power supply for the 100 watt amplifier > - it would be helpful if I can receive replies from amateurs who have this > setup or similar - also, does anyone run this type of setup using a 12 vdc > battery? - tnx & 72 Bruce ve5rc > > _______________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Post to: [hidden email] > You must be a subscriber to post to the list. > Subscriber Info (Addr.
