I suspect that what Jay says is at least partly true. The die-hard
hikers / backpackers now have
some excellent Rig options and if by buying and building the K1 and KX1
are getting other
folks out to do some hiking just to operate the Rigs then IMHO that is
a good thing as well.
The third option is like SUVs, I'm guessing that a large percentage of
Elecraft Rigs
never stray off of "paved roads" (ie never leave the house).
