Jim,
Be more specific on your question. My experiences are:
I HAD a Rig Expert Standard running on the K3 but I dismantled it and is
using a Signalink USB. The Rig Expert is great since it does CAT radio
control using Ham Radio Deluxe however, the RS232 Serial Port was the issue
that made me switch. I had 3 devices fighting for the port on the K3:
1. SteppIR BigIR Vertical SDA 100 Controller
2. Rig Expert Standard
3. P3 Panadapter
With a "Y" cable 1 device would work and not the other due to differing baud
rates (SDA 100 @19,200 bps, P3 at 38,400 bps, Rig Expert-either speed will
work) plus perhaps low serial signal. I disconnected the P3 since it works
without the connection and switched to the Signalink. Actually I had the
Palstar AT-Auto tuner which I sold to get the Palstar HF-Auto which doesn't
required CI-V/Serial port control.
Getting back to your question, the Rig Expert works well with the K3 and the
software should work, you just need the cable paired with the Tiny and K3,
believe Array Solutions is the only dealer that I know of.
I'm using the Rig Expert at work on my Icom 706 and laptop, otherwise I
would sell it but I love the way it gels with the radio.
