Earl's message was empty; the text you quote was from a "signature" added to
his email by the spam filter he hasn't paid for yet.
I haven't figured out why some people send empty test messages to the list.
If you ever decide to post you'll know within a few minutes if it's working.
And as far as testing the receive capability, this list is so freaking
active that it will fill your inbox within minutes of joining. :-) But to
each his own; it's easy enough to delete the test messages.
