switching on click .. long thread

John Ragle
Please excuse the fact that I cut the tail off this post. I think there
are enough copies floating in reflector land that the subject will be
recognized.

It is interesting that a significant fraction of the respondents do not
experience the thump reported by others. Although I don't consider this
thump or click a defect, I wonder if it can have to do with the type of
power supply being used, e.g. a regulator transient caused by the sudden
load. I do not experience this thump, and I am running my K3 off a 13.8
V Pyramid switcher...definitely not what I would call a super-quality
power supply...I have not tried a battery, but am tempted by curiosity
to do so. What sayeth the multitude?

Re: switching on click .. long thread

I have run my K3 from batteries for many years.  Since I first got it in
fact.  I do have a power supply just in case but 4 Trojan T-105s keep its
fire lit.

I do not experience any thumping, whooshing, ringing, or other noises.
Except one: the relay clicking in.  But, I expect that.

It would be nice if I could get it to sound like the TARDIS whizzing about.
