Jack,

The Griffin knob still requires a PC or something similar.  It is a USB
device.
Otherwise, what you say about the KRC2 capabilities is correct.

The real request is for a "POD" similar to that offered by Ten Tec that
places a tuning knob and a few buttons on the desk rather than using the
VFO knob on the transceiver.
