Hmmm ... I learned to use a bug and keyer right-handed so I could write
with my left.  I can use them left-handed (still set up as a
right-handed paddle), but it doesn't feel quite right, except for the
KX1.  On it, I can switch hands easily, and often do.  I have no idea
why, except that maybe there are no discernible moving parts on the KX1?
  FWIW: I'm pretty much a Mode A guy and I hardly ever use the Iambic
squeeze.
