Last week I asked on this reflector about realigning
my K2 as it is about 10 months old and I wasn't really
sure I did a good job of it the first time. Several
good people here on the reflector adviced it probably
was a good idea and offered some valuable suggestions
for this time around.
Over the last two days I've spent about 10 hours doing
what I think is a good alignment and think that it is
now complete. (Surprized how close most setting
were.)I've not done any serious on air testing with it
other than some casual listening because I have two
concerns. Both relate to the IF passband as seen on
Spectrogram. First, the CW level when using OP1
filter is about 20+ db higher than on LSB/USB. If
this is a problem, any ideas as to how to correct it?
Second, the displayed bandwidth is 400-500 hz wider
than that set in the K2 and especially on OP1 which
was about 3khz+ wide. They resemble their settings
except all are simply wider than that set. I'm
allowing for half power points and all that. I had to
increase the Spectrogram sample rate to see all the
bandwidth especially on OP1.
Again my thanks to all for the good help I received
and to Elecraft for the bandwidth here.
