Larry,

If your ProSet has the HC-5 element, it is NOT a ProSet K2.  The ProSet
K2 is only sold through Elecraft AFAIK.

ALL ProSet K2s have an electret element.  That is why you need bias
turned on in the K3 and for the K2 the bias resistor at the microphone
jack is needed.

All ProSets work nicely with the K3.  If it is the ProSet K2 or the
ProSet iC, then bias needs to be on, but for the others bias should be
off.  They can be plugged into the front mic jack with a Kenwood
adapter, or plugged into the rear panel jacks with no adapter required.
