switching from vfo a to b in sync am

I noticed the other night while listening to the gran ole opry on the k3,
that when I pressed the a/b (keypad 1) button to switch to radio havana on
5970, got a longer beep and nothing happened.

But, when on a ham band, a/b worked fine.

Am I missing something, or is this a bug?
