Issues with Using Phone on K3

All: I went to use my K3 using a single band Miracle Antenna Mixed Mode Dipole on 20 meters. The SWR was about 1.6 (which I assume that is adequate). I was operating at about 50 watts (primarily because that's the recommendation of the Miracle Antenna literature).

I was able to hear stations but when I went to transmit (using the stock Elecraft Mike), I do not believe anyone could here me. I believe the red transmit light was on when I transmitted.

Here are some basic questions:

1) What should the settings associated with the microphone be inside the radio? (I know that the "front panel mike selected" was on). Specifically, what sort of default values should I look for?

2) I do not seem to get a "beep" when I hit a button or switch on the front of the radio (which was how the radio was originally set up). I am thinking I may have hit something accidentally.

3) Should I see any form of "bar" on the front of the display when I am speaking and should it move as I modulate my voice?
