I agree it should be easy to tap off the IF but I suspect that will be a
relatively high impedance point and will require a source follower (cathode
follower) circuit to drive the coax without dragging down the signal.
I seem to remember a QST article on adding a pan adapter to the KWM2 but
that was some time ago.

I don't think so either, but I'm thinking it should be easy to tap off the
455 khz signal path and bring it out to a BNC or RCA connector.
