As I recall, the procedure for tuning the caps is to be done with the tuner out
and bypassed with a jumper, so I don't see why the tuner blocking the cap would
be a problem.
Regarding the alignment tool. I wish I could say for sure which one is needed,
but I know the one I use comes from the ceramic alignment set sold by MorseX
(<
http://www.morsex.com/tools/#alignset>). They are not cheap, but the bonus
is that the relatively small red reversable tips come off the holder/driver
extension and you can pull it out and put it in your carry-with KX1 tool bag
(along with your antenna tuner jumper).
