twin KPA500 amplifiers

inventor61 .
The discussion about a 'KPA1500' made me think about putting two of the
KPA500 in parallel.

Using a gizmo like this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/140399305330?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

or the equivalent circuitry, packaged and cabled accordingly, and maybe
wire-AND-ing (or with diodes) the key lines of the two amps, them letting
them auto-band-switch based on the initial signal, doing so would yield a
~1200W Elecraft amplifier.

Is this an awful idea? (Ignore the cost for this exercise.)   If so, why?

Ignoring cost...why not one of these?

22,800 EU is about $17,215 US

Re: twin KPA500 amplifiers

Mitch Wolfson, DJØQN / K7DX
You have your exchange rate backwards......at today's rate of 1.33,
22,800 Euros is about $30,300.
