1. I would like to characterize a completed T-4 binocular transformer
assembly to see if I really understand it. If I have it wrong, please
straighten me out.
the binocular core has two through-holes. when the wiring is done
according to the instructions, there will be two passes of wire 1-2 in
each hole, three passes of wire 3-4 in each hole, and one pass of each
the "link" wires in each hole. wire 1-2 will exit on one side, 3-4 on
the other side and each "link" wire runs through its respective hole
from one side to the other.
By the way, the printing on my manual left out some of the wiring on
the diagram, but the pdf of the manual on the web-site has a good
picture.
2. 2nd question. It looks like I'm going to get done with this thing
tomorrow. The dummy load I need won't be here for about a week sooooo,
I wondered if it would harm the machine if I went through receiver
alignment of all the bands and skipped the 40 meter transmitter
alignment - for now. I'm not licensed yet, so I'm not going to be
transmitting anything for a while in any case.
Thanks for your help with this, John Ferguson
