Sorry, but I just can't take it any more. This is targeted at way too
many of you...not just one person. "Loose" is the opposite of tight. "Lose" is when you don't win --or-- when you had something but don't have it any more. That is, you LOST it. Lost is the past tense of lose (not loose). Loose sounds like the beginning of the name Lucy or like the word "noose" (the rope thing). Lose sounds like the possessive form of "Lou," such as "Lou's radio is broken." de Doug KR2Q _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. -----Original Message----- Is an Elecraft gray, or grey? -------------------------- Actually, it can be spelled either way. After much debate, I've settled on "gray" since "a" comes before "e" in the alphabet. Here is a site you (that's the plural form) may be interested in. It lists many common errors in English. It's great fun to click and read. http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/errors.html - Keith N1AS - - K2 5411.ssb.100 - - K3 Wave 3 - _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Your Mr. Webster has a lot to answer for. He was either lazy or could
not spell, yet he had the supreme cheek to write a dictionary. I was able to avoid it in undergrad school but it was a required text in my law school's Legal Writing class, as well as the Holy Writ for the resident grammarian to whom I've been married for a couple of decades. 73 de K2ASP - Phil Kane Elecraft K2/100 s/n 5402 _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
