will the T-1 fit in the kx1?

Roland Whitsitt
I have a friend who wants more tuning capabilities and was wondering if the T-1 tuner is better.
If it is, will it fit in the kx1 like it does in the ft817?
If so, is there a printed step by step to making it fit inside the kx1?

Thanks,
Roland de n5vwn/6 k2#3090

Yes, but the printed instructions begin: "Do not adjust your television set.
We control the horizontal. We control the vertical." The T1 (110mmx65) is
the same size as the KX1 (130x75).

---------------

No, the T1 won't fit inside the KX1 box.

The T1 tuner has a greater range than the KXAT1 tuner for the KX1 because of
the space limitations. It's a matter of how many L/C combinations can be
provided, and that requires the room for the relays, capacitors and
inductors. The KXAT1 is more limited in its matching range because, using
all the available space for it inside the KX1 case, it can't provide as many
combinations to produce a match as the T1. Still, the KXAT1 does a very
credible job and will operate with a large range of antennas.
