40m band 7000-7200 kHz

oe9fwv
hi all,

first a question:
since we have got the 40m band now from 7000 to 7200 kHz is there any
modification needed for the K2 to cover this range?

second a thanksgiving:
The missing trimmer was sent to me from Elecraft and is already installed.
thank you, Elecraft.

Congrats on the expanded 40 meter band. The 'stock' K2 covers 7000 to 7300
kHz so you're all set.

Hallo Werner,

The frequency band for 40m here in the USA is 7000 to 7300 and my K2 covers that fine as is.  So, no, you shouldn't have any modification necessary on your K2.

Auf Wiederhoeren!

The K2 covers the entire region 2 band of 7000 to 7300 kHz (and will
probably go outside of that range by some amount, but I've never tried
it).

SV: 40m band 7000-7200 kHz

Sverre Holm-2
In reply to this post by oe9fwv
Hi,

As many already have responded, the K2 covers 7.0-7.3 MHz in its orignal
version.

What may be confusing is that there is a mod to narrow the 40 m filter down
to 7.0-7.1 MHz for the European range. Some of us who have done this mod may
consider removing it, and go back to the original K2 40 m filter.
Personally, as I am only active on CW, I don't think I will remove this mod
until the broadcast stations are gone and the radio amateurs are first
priority above 7.1 MHz. I believe that is still some years away in IARU
Region 1.
