Hi all,
On K3's #94 and #965, on cw when you narrow the DSP down past 150 to 100, there is a noticable pop in the speaker and the audio becomes quite muted. The S meter still shows the same strength. Both are running 2.73. I've tried moving the IF shift but still muted audio. You can hear it, but just way down. Can anyone verify if their's acts the same way? thanks!! Thanks John,
That was it. Both rigs use the same config file so it makes sense that they both acted the same way. I guess the equalization happens before the bandwidth instead of after. So now the question is, should the DSP be smart enough to know when it's equalization has be changed and you ask it to go to 100 or 50Hz, should it display some kind of warning message like, "Hey stupid, I can't do that" or maybe "RTFM" Thanks again for the info. My K3 is #1025. I think I am on version 2.67. I do dot observe the audio reduction. If I have a pop, it is high frequency because I do not hear it. My hearing is such that I don't hear above about 2.7 kHz. It is the same for both receivers. It is the same pre-amp on and off. The test was made at 7052 Khz.

>there is a noticable pop in the speaker and the audio becomes quite muted. The slight pop is normal, depending on signals present at the moment you transition between 100 and 150 Hz. Usually if the signal goes down it is either (ra) ref cal is off or (b) you are using RX Eq and have the prefered sidetone frequencie sboosted. Set it so that your prefered pitch is at 0 dB. 73, Lyle KK7P _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. I just upgraded from 2.67 to 2.78. The pop from 150 to 100Hz is now very clear.

Not sure who takes requests. Here are mine.
Simple 1. RX EQ separate by mode 2. Dual PB is very useful but in many situations the BW of the peak: 200 Hz is too wide. Make this configurable. Less important: make ratio of peak to average configurable as well. Ignacy, NO9E |
