Hi all,
I'm new to the list, having just purchased a K3. Still need to put some antennas up to try it out. Soon... Anyway, to the point of my post: Due to the large number of posts to this list, I read it on the qth.net web site in archives, rather than directly in email. Qth.net archives isn't smart enough to insert CR/LF's, which makes for a lot of horizontal scrolling in some posts. I, and I'm sure others, would appreciate you hitting your ENTER key when you come to the end of a line. On another note, given the high traffic of this list, has splitting it up (eg., K3 and accessories only) ever been considered? 73, Barry W2UP |

The biggest problem with that is defining at what point the line ends...... :-P .

I just went to the web archive and paged through several threads with both IE and
Firefox, and none of them required horizontal scrolling. I have a 22" monitor, and the browsers are full screen. QTH.net seemed to preserve the formatting quite well. (K1, K2, K3, KX1 etc.) This will be a huge help for those experiencing email overload and will allow automatic filtering based on subject line. Examples: "Subject: [K3] Filter Options" "Subject: [KX1] How to use ped portable?" "Subject: [XG2] Wow! Its a big help. |

Isn't Nabble a much better place to read this list? qth.net doesn't

Unfortunately, a lot of GUI email programs are broken in that way. They
assumed because people in GUI environments treat newline as end of paragraph, that was how internet email was supposed to work. There are, however, newer standards, which try to give the best of both worlds and clients that use them. Thunderbird may have its faults, but it does wrap the actual send mail at about 72 characters. It mains paragraph wrapping in compatible readers by using a special header and an associated convention that lines ending in space have soft newlines.
