I'd like to work AO-7 with my K3. I have the 2m module. AO-7 Mode A is 2m
up and 10m down. Any way to unmute the K3 rx during tx periods so I can hear my downlink? Sold my TS-2000x and FT-847 back around the time I bought the K3 thus the K3 is my only VHF capable rig for the moment. 73 Bill AA7XT ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

The K3 does not support cross-band full-duplex operation.

What if the K3 had the 2nd RX Option? Then could the second RX stay on HF
while the other did the VHF? Unfortunately not, Bill.
Probably the only serious transceiver out there that does full-duplex (rx on while transmit) is the Sienna. I believe it supports transverters, so this may make it popular with the satellite guys. Full-duplex is really awesome, a new experience very much like listening in diversity for the first time. I obvious solution is to use a second receiver (I do not mean in the K3).
I plan to operate satellite using my KX3 on 2m and K3 on other bands. e.g. KX3+KX3-2M can either receive or transmit on 2m Using a transverter with the K3 one can transmit or receive on 435 or higher bands. The K3 can receive AO-7 on ten meters. 73, Ed - KL7UW ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
