Here's a technique that allows C22 (K2 Master Oscillator Calibration
Capacitor) on the K2 Control Board to be set to precisely to the correct position, with no guesswork, and no external test equipment. We've just added this App note to our Builders Page at: http://www.elecraft.com/Apps/K2info.htm Look in the 'What's New?' section. Thanks to Tom Hammond, N0SS, for formatting the app note! 73, Eric WA6HHQ _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Folks,
This IS the "N6KR method" that I have become so fond of (add an 'l' to the link below). Wayne was the originator of this method and Tom has done a good job of documenting it. I will still stick with my favored method of observing zero beat (looking at the tone frequencies with Spectrogram) because it takes my ears and eyes out of the picture and allows me to get within 3 Hz of zero beat. I realize that Wayne is trying to achieve a 'no added equipment required' flavor to it, but for me, the added equipment makes it easier and more certain - YMMV. I will be updating my webpage (www.qsl.net/w3fpr) with the link to the document soon. 73, Don W3FPR ----- Original Message ----- > Here's a technique that allows C22 (K2 Master Oscillator Calibration > Capacitor) on the K2 Control Board to be set to precisely to the correct > position, with no guesswork, and no external test equipment. > > We've just added this App note to our Builders Page at: > http://www.elecraft.com/Apps/K2info.htm > > Look in the 'What's New?' section. > > Thanks to Tom Hammond, N0SS, for formatting the app note! > > 73, Eric WA6HHQ _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
