Blackwidow

Fred (FL)
The "key" looks very substantial - except, I can't
understand why they would use such cheap thin
banjo picks, and galvanized screws with which
to attach them?

Fred
....itch'n for another build!

Southwestern Charm, I think they look spiffy!

Besides, you ever tried to break a banjo pick?

Is this the same as the Arizona QRP society (?) Scorpion?  I have two of 'em still in the bag, but as you mention, polishing that brass looks like it might take until the sunspot cycle comes around agn.

John, is that a picture of your Blackwidow, FB job!

It's designed and kitted by the same guy, but I believe they're
different. Not knowing the Scorpion, I couldn't tell you the
differences. Magnetic return?

Actually, compare and contrast:

Looks to me like the Black Widow is a whole lot finer.

Seriously, electric buzzy sander. I spent HOURS using Jerry's "sandpaper
taped to a flat surface" method, and was getting almost nowhere, then I
attacked it with the buzzy sander (not band sander, not disk sander, I
mean something a bit like
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000050FBC.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg) and had it
nice and clean in about a minute, maybe two.
