Is this the same as the Arizona QRP society (?) Scorpion? I have two of 'em still in the bag, but as you mention, polishing that brass looks like it might take until the sunspot cycle comes around agn.

Magnetic return? Actually, compare and contrast: http://www.azscqrpions.org/Page2_ScQRPion_Website.htm http://www.w5jh.net/Black_Widow.htm Looks to me like the Black Widow is a whole lot finer. > I have two of 'em still in the bag, but as you mention, polishing > that brass looks like it might take until the sunspot cycle comes > around agn. Seriously, electric buzzy sander. I spent HOURS using Jerry's "sandpaper taped to a flat surface" method, and was getting almost nowhere, then I attacked it with the buzzy sander (not band sander, not disk sander, I mean something a bit like http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000050FBC.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg) and had it nice and clean in about a minute, maybe two. -- "Nosey" Nick Waterman, G7RZQ, K2 #5209. use Std::Disclaimer; [hidden email] I'm a light eater.
