A bit of help please. CAT was working fine for the first half of field day and then quit. I was unable to get it to work again at Field Day.
Today, I connected the K3 to another computer and serial port and it still doesn't work. I've confirmed the baud rate is set to 38,400 bps. The com port is working on the computer. I tried using the Elecraft K3 Utility and HRD but they wouldn't see the radio. Is there anything else to check or has perhaps my RS232 port on the K3 gone bad?? 73, Mack WB4MAK |

I believe I have the baud rate set to 4800 and HRD seems to work fine with
my K3. I'd try a different cable and also try accessing your K3 with the K3 Utility
from a different computer. The K3 Utility tries all the baud rates in its attempt to communicate with a K3. Just click "Test Communications" under the Port tab. Bruce and Dick,
Thank you for your suggestions. Turns out the problem was a defective USB/Serial Converter. All if fine now. I guess all the dirty power, even though I had a UPS in line, got to the converter some how. Or maybe it just quit. Mack
