CW Field Day operations in Northwest Oregon

Kevin Rock
Are there any groups in Northwest Oregon who would like a CW operator to join them for Field Day?

If there aren't, why not start your own? That's what I did many years ago,
when I got fed up with the local clubs' approach to FD.

Doesn't have to be a formal club, just a Field Day group.

I'm not sure where you mean by N.W. Oregon but the Valley Radio Club of Eugene will have an operation.
If you're interested just ask on the 146.72 (W7PXL) repeater.

Whenever I've been on the road over field day, I've just asked around on the local repeaters and always found a FD group to operate with. (CW operators are always welcome)

This is another fantasy of mine.  Form a club of CW operators who like to operate in the boonies and actually build their own rigs.  Glory be I think that may draw a few fine souls.  Maybe even a glowbug or two :)

Team Ki7el is planning on being out in the woods of Western
Washington for FD.  CW operators are definately not shunned, and neither
are builders or QRP ops.  Indeed, we'll be running a mix of QRP cw, ssb,
and digital this year on mostly hand-made rigs.  We'll be leaving from
Woodland, WA Saturday morning.  There are normally just three of us, but
there's always room for more!  Drop me a note if you're interested!

BTW, I'll be driving down from Seattle either Friday night or Saturday
morning, so the invitation is extended north as well :).

Kevin and all:

Not that its much help to you on the west coast, but we really like
CW operators at FD operations here in Maine. If you hear KS1R or
N1TRC (our GOTA call) give us a shout.
