I have a K3/100 on order and I already have this Kenwood KPS-15 power supply. It seems to have the capacity to power the radio. Thoughts? http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/hamps/4273.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Hi,
I am sure it's more than useable. Can other owners answer the following two questions: Is the negative output connected to chassis and the ground prong of the AC plug? If it is, can it be disconnected easily (on the MFJ4125 I currently use this is next to impossible)? Is there any RF hash? The QST review wasn't entirely convincing, but really all that matters is the noise under a light load (RX mode), which they didn't measure. I am interested since I am starting to get fed up with the fan noise from the MFJ and the line regulation isn't stellar. AB2TC - Knut

Is this Anderson PowerPole a connector I need to buy? If so can you provide a link? BTW, if it isn't obvious. I'm a new General class licensee as of Saturday. maybe or maybe not. Read this:
http://www.cometantenna.com/pdf_review/SS-330W_QST_review.pdf Might be a noise issue. If you have it just try it and you will find out. /Jim ------------ On 2010-10-05 19:21, John Ragle wrote: > Looks (and specs) just like one I use on my K3/100. Thanks Jim. I'll just have to try it and hope for the best. Wife is having a heart attack about what I've already spent. If the PS doesn't work out, I'll have to live with it a while until it can be replaced. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jan Erik Holm" <[hidden email]> Cc: [hidden email] Sent: Tuesday, October 5, 2010 12:56:15 PM Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Can I use this power supply? maybe or maybe not. Robert et al,
I apologize if the following info is a repeat. I'm still catching up on the emails on this reflector. You can purchase Anderson PowerPole connectors and tools at <http://www.powerwerx.com>. 73, Gary R. Your K3 comes with the Power Pole connectors that it requires. You do not need to purchase an additional connector. -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Gary Sent: Saturday, October 09, 2010 9:51 AM To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Can I use this power supply?
