Trying to get RTTY/PSK set up and having a hard time with CocoaModem. The K3 line out
is NOR 10. Increasing it doesn't seem to do anything. I'm using an iMic. I've selected that in CM, and the volume is set about 3/4 full scale. I've tried the iMic set to both line and mic, no difference. CM is printing garbage. The tuning aid/waterfall show nothing. No transmit. Anybody see anything I need to change or set? 73, Mike NF4L ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Hi Rick -
I think so. The output and input tabs have the slider almost full scale. The "Use audio port for" is set to output on the output tab and on the input tab it's set to input. I'm running Lion. I have often tripped myself up using CocoaModem by messing up one of these three settings in
the PSK Configuration panel: (1) Forgetting to set "State" to "Active" (2) being set to the wrong sideband (will depend on how you've wired the cable from soundcard to computer) and (3) forgetting to set "Input" device correctly (it will default to Built-in Microphone" and needs to be set to your particular device). Maybe one of these has tripped you up (?). Cheers - Bruce

Thanks, Bruce -
The "Active" thingy bit me, and that got me a bit further. It now recieves, but when I click "Transmit" the K3 gets keyed, but has no output. I don't hear a diddle. I assume you mean the cable from the soundcard to the radio? Yeah, it's OK. The correct sound device is selected. 73, Mike NF4L On 11/11/2011 11:34 AM, K1FFX wrote: > I have often tripped myself up using CocoaModem by messing up one of these > three settings in > the PSK Configuration panel: (1) Forgetting to set "State" to "Active" (2) > being set to the wrong > sideband (will depend on how you've wired the cable from soundcard to > computer) and (3) forgetting > to set "Input" device correctly (it will default to Built-in Microphone" and > needs to be set to your > particular device). "soundcard to the computer" ... sometimes, I wonder where I left my brain ... yes, of course, what
I meant to say was "soundcard to the rig". Glad to hear you are now receiving. With regards to now getting output, the only thing I can think of checking is the L/R sideband selector in the bottom (output) section of the PSK config screen (assuming you've got the output device set correctly). This will again depend on how you've got the soundcard-to-rig cable on the transmit side wired. Sounds like you're close to success ... good luck! - Bruce
