Am now using K3 rear panel mic connector. Front panel mic connector has an
unfinished look and is open to dust and other stuff. Does anyone know where possibly a knurled screw on cover may be obtained. I cover the front mic connecters on my K3s with flexible SO-239 connector
protectors (which often come with a new transceiver, amplifier, wattmeter, etc.) I have both red and black ones in my junkbox. Black looks best and works perfectly to cover the mic connector. I use one of the covers that Cushcraft provided with an antenna.
It's got a little hole in it and it's a tad loose, but doesn't come off and blends in nicely. de K2GN - Larry - http://k2gn.com K3 S/N - 3278 P3 S/N - ???? I found a metal cover made to do just that. It was at a marine store
and is used to keep unused jacks from getting corrosion in salt air. At least, I think that is what it is for. It has a gasket, and a small chain and ring that can be placed under a cabinet screw or removed. I got mine for my K2, since I don't have any need for the mic jack. The K2 didn't have a mic label, which, unfortunately, the K3 does. :-) 73, Rick Dettinger K7MW > > Am now using K3 rear panel mic connector.
