This question may have been asked and answered earlier, but I can't find it. When using DATA A for audio sound card modes and selecting the rear-panel line-in and line-out jacks, is the audio from the mic (both front and rear panel) disconnected, such that the only audio coming into the transmitter is from the line jack? I have an email from TigerTronics saying they believe it is not disconnected, thus allowing random mic inputs to mix with the sound card audio coming in through the Line connection. I would like to disabuse them of this belief if possible.

Currently, if you select FP mic or RP mic or LINE IN, that is the only active Tx audio input. The two not currently selected are not used, and do not mix. We will have an update that allows LINE In + either of the mic inputs, but it is not released yet. 73, Lyle KK7P _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Hallo Werner,
for example my laptop only has a single LINE IN input, which is not suitable for microphones. I want to continue using my present headset and also use the voice keyer (with PTT control) in my contest logging software, meaning I need two "simultaneous" AF inputs in the rig, e.g. LINE IN and Microphone FP. Personally I am really, really waiting for this. As nice as the DV hardware from Elecraft will be, and I have it on back order, I still want to optionally be able to use an external voice keyer. vy 73 de toby _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. It allows the use of "Voice Keyer" software running on a PC, for example, to save your voice calling by CQ for you during a contest, yet still allows you to speak into the microphone. Or it might allow you play back to the other station a recording of his off-the-air signal. There are many possibilities for using this feature. 73, Lyle KK7P _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. The one thing that seems not to have been explicitly stated is that the
Line-In-Only configuration will still be an option after the Line-In+Mic option is added. Please confirm that this is a feature ADDITION, not a feature CHANGE. Let me be clear: The K3 currently allows you to use Front Panel Mic *or* Rear Panel Mic *or* Line In. What we will be adding is an *additional* selection: Mic + Line In. The Mic will be the one you currently have selected (Front or Rear). It will *not* replace the existing selections, it will simply add additional capability for those who wish to use it.
