Does anyone know of a DOS Utility program that can work with the KX3 even if only in a limited way?

Any terminal program will do, like Telix. You can use the commands from the
Programmer's Reference Manual, to control most features of the rig. It would also not be hard to write a simple program to do a specific task. What do you have in mind / what do you want to do? 73, Thomas M0TRN On 29 September 2012 18:23, K7JLTextra <[hidden email]> wrote: > Does anyone know of a DOS Utility program that can work with the KX3 even > if only in a limited way? > > John K7JLT > Sent from my iPod > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

If you don't mind *really* limited, you could use a DOS terminal
emulation program. I can't remember any examples -- been waaaay too long. But you could then do two things: send commands (like "FA;" to read the VFO frequency), and send/receive CW/RTTY/PSK31 by sending a "TT1;" command to put the KX3 into dumb-terminal mode. "TT0;" takes it back out. There are some serious compromises with TT1 mode, but it works. Refer to the K3/KX3 Programmer's Reference. 73, Wayne N6KR On Sep 29, 2012, at 10:23 AM, K7JLTextra wrote: > Does anyone know of a DOS Utility program that can work with the KX3 > even if only in a limited way? > > John K7JLT > Sent from my iPod > ______________________________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:[hidden email] > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

ProComm 3. I believe it's public domain now. It's been around a long
time, and all IP claims are outdated now. matt On Sat, 29 Sep 2012 17:23:04 -0700, you wrote: >If you don't mind *really* limited, you could use a DOS terminal >emulation program.
