Congrats on the cool DX, Ron!
Now, where on the web is an up-to-date and authoritative mapping of callsign prefixes to countries? I can't find ZG here: http://www.425dxn.org/dxcc/dxccmain.html . I would have guessed by interpolation that it was maybe Cayman Islands, which is ZF, but I obviously need a better list, or else I'm overlooking it. Anyway, I'm going to go check out 30m before all the Europeans go to sleep... Thanks & 73, Jeff WB5GWB Long Island, NY ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ron Polityka" <[hidden email]> To: ".Elecraft" <[hidden email]> Sent: Wednesday, September 06, 2006 6:44 PM Subject: [Elecraft] DX on 30m > Hello, > > Just worked ZG2FK @ 22:39 UTC on 10106.25 MHz. > > Gibraltar!! > > Ernest gave me a 559, running the K2 at 5 w into Butternut HF9V on ground. > > Easy!! > > 72 and Thanks, > Ron Polityka > WB3AAL > www.wb3aal.com > www.n3epa.org/ > > K1 - SN 01011 > K2 - SN 01392 > > > _______________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Post to: [hidden email] > You must be a subscriber to post to the list. > Subscriber Info (Addr. According to my DX cluster's database, ZG = ZB (Gibraltar), although
I have never heard that prefix. 74 - Bob, N7XY On Sep 6, 2006, at 4:34 PM, Jeff wrote: > Congrats on the cool DX, Ron! > > Now, where on the web is an up-to-date and authoritative mapping of > callsign > prefixes to countries? ZG is indeed an alternative prefix for ZB and is shown as such in the RSGB prefix guide and recognised as such in my logging program (XMLog). ZB2FK is a resident on the rock so was obviously using the call for a special occasion (don't know what). I see from the cluster that ZG2FX was also active - as well as WB3AAL... 73 Dave G3YMC http://www.davesergeant.com _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
