Anyone doing this on 160/80? What filter pairs are you using?

Yes, 500/2.7k in both Main/Sub; also 1.8k/200 in Main only (for extreme SSB/CW situations). Filling all 10 filter slots is a waste of money IMHO. 73, Bill |

I don't have a 160m antenna, but using the 80m TX antenna and the RX antenna works well for QSX on 160. The QSX antenna is an 80m full wave loop close to the ground. On 80m the TX antenna is an inverted vee. On 40m the TX antenna is a half sloper. It works quite well. I can hear the fading moving from one ear to the other. Since installing the second RX I hardly ever use just the main RX. I'm in diversity mode around 90% of the time. I rarely work any mode except CW, but it works well with SSB also. When listening to short wave foreign BC stations it makes a whopping big difference. Filters: All of them. When working split, sometimes using the 1.00 or .4 for the SUB to hear more band width in the SUB ear. Yes, 200Hz, 500Hz and 2.7kHz filters in both receivers; I
deal with extreme noise in my suburban location and find using the 200Hz
filters helps enormously. Nothing special for receive antennas: a K9AY
loop array and the N6RK remote tuned coaxial loop (www.n6rk.com). I found diversity
reception to be extremely helpful in the recent ARRL 160 meter contest. 73 Gary, N7IR _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
