Dual Signal Image on NaP3 with KX3

I get a dual image on my NaP3 display even though my microphone is set up as a 2 channel. I tried the iMic route and that did not seem to work. The signals are equal in magnitude and in phase in time. Any ideas? The image is 1.4kHz away. Is there a way to squelch that image?

Ariel, sometimes NaP3's I-Q autobalancing gets discombobulated. It can be
cured very simply by putting in a very big carrier, S9+40 or so. I have my
XG-3 connected to the receive antenna input on the K3. When my NaP3 gets
out of sorts (not frequent, maybe once a month) I switch over to the RX
Ant, turn on the XG3 to the 0 dBm level, and tune the receiver to about 40
Khz away from the signal. This fixes the display immediately.

This presumes that you do have the sound card and everything else set up
correctly. If you do, this simple trick will wake up NaP3's autobalance,
which will eliminate images from the display and make it perform perfectly.

I tried the XG3 with the biggest signal on it and I still have the mirror image. Do I tune right to the big signal and then move away?

Ariel,

Before any other attempts at image rejection in NaP3, check your
soundcard audio levels. Both the left and right channel gains must be
the same for a good starting point. Also be certain that the audio
cables are of good quality and the connectors are seated properly.

If you have equal amplitude images, it may be that you only have one
channel feeding the soundcard.

Yep, but if that didn't fix it right away it sounds like something else is
wrong; you don't have a stereo path for the I-Q, or something. Don't
know....

I once had a similar problem. It turned out that the sound was actually
coming in via the microphone built into my laptop computer rather than
via the audio input jack. The mic was picking up speaker audio. Drove
me crazy until I figured out what was going on.
