Hi Folks:
I called both of the Elecraft CW Nets (20M and 40M) this week in Kevin's absence. WHERE WAS THE EAST COAST??? I heard NO(!) signals from anyone from the east... and as it turned out, only a few from the west... but at least a few nonetheless. It was good to have Mark, KJ7BS, check in on both bands, unfortunately, each time he sent his K2 serial number he went into a DEEP fade (both bands)... kinda like the Gods didn't want me to copy it... heheh! I hope I managed to pull it thru correctly. I was startled to hear Wayne, N6KR, check in during the 20M net. Good sigs, Wayne. But of course, we'd have expected nothing less! <G> Interesting call Fred, K5QLF, holds... definitely NOT a QLF fist though! I checked in all stations I was able to hear. If you attempted to check in and I did not acknowledge you, I sincerely apologize... the bands were relatively quiet and had I heard ANYTHING resembling a calling signal, I'd have attempted to pull your through. Here's the LOG from both nets. ECN 20M 12-12-2005 KD5ONS Kevin OR K2 KD5PZO Pat OR N0SS Tom MO K2 008 KJ7BS MARK AZ K2 839 KG6VPU BILL CA FT901DM N6KR WAYNE CA K2 3000 ECN 40M 12-12-2005 KD5ONS Kevin OR K2 KD5PZO Pat OR N0SS Tom MO K2 008 K5QLF FRED TX K1 1820 KJ7BS MARK AZ K2 839 See y'all next week (hopefully) when, with luck, Kevin will return to the fold. 73, Tom N0SS _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Thanks to Tom for running the ECN while Kevin tended to pressing matters.
The QSB was slow and deep here in AZ plus I could not get my fingers to send the correct digits for my K2 serial number (539). I thought I heard a KL station trying to check in, but could not pull him out of the noise floor. I would have tried to check in, perhaps, but I thought there would be no
net due to Kevin's situation. Perhaps next time. Hi Dave:
It was a bit of a last-minute decision by Kevin, to have me call the net. Sorry we missed you. Pretty much too late to get the word out by the time the decision was made. Back (probably) to normal next weekend. 73, Tom At 09:42 AM 12/12/2005, Dave Sublette wrote: >I would have tried to check in, perhaps, but I thought there would >be no net due to Kevin's situation. I tried to QNI ECN 20m Sunday night but not a peep was heard from any station 30 minutes b4 net and onward. 73, Mychael AA3WF K2#1025 _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
