ERR 12V

James Hall-2
Hello:

I was working the NAQP today on 10M and was doing fine and then the PA got
bypassed and I got ERR 12V on the screen and to check the circuit breaker.
Well the circuit breaker is not popped. Turning the radio on and off did
nothing and I'm forced to run QRP - well, S&P. Changing bands also did
nothing to rectify the situation. The antennas are resonant with good SWR. I
checked the Config menu and the relay works when going from On to Test, and
the fan seems to work although it's very quiet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks to everyone for the quick response. The consensus is that it is a
tarnished connector problem - a known issue. My serial number on my K3 is
#616 so definitely an early model. I'll get in touch with them Monday for
the repair kit.

So far, I'm holding my own while QRP J

Indeed, a known issue with early K3s.
I chose to use the easy 'bypass' method.
Pictures and info also available from Elecraft.
