Elecraft CW Net Recognition

Kevin Rock
Good Evening,
I was not able to run the nets on Sunday but Tom ably shouldered the
task.  He worked many stations across the continent.  Since he does not
have the database I keep in an up to date form he would not know the
numbers I will now detail.

Please recognize these operators for their listed achievement:
        W0CZ - Ken - ND - K2 - 1031      QNI #165
        K2HYD - Ray - NC - KX1 - 608     QNI  #95
        N0AR - Scott - MN - K2 - 4866    QNI  #50
        W6ZH - Pete - CA - ?             QNI  #45
        WA3UCR - Bill - PA - K2 - 4716   QNI   #5
        N7KRT - Jeff - NV - ?            QNI   #5
        K1THP - Dave - CT - ?            QNI   #5

Plus: a special thanks to Tom; both for running the nets and for making
a special trip to OzarkCon to meet me.  I had a great trip with many
pleasant memories.  Another thank you to Sam, KL7V/5 and his wife Marijo
for picking me up in Oklahoma City, putting me up for two days, taking me
to and from Joplin, and taking me back to the airport.  I met a great
number of very fine people at the gathering.  Thank you all for your
kindness and pleasant reception.

I will be back again next week as NCS but it appears I am not necessary
for its success.  Hmmm... I may need to take more trips.  Maybe Pacificon
in October ;)

Thank you all for helping ECN gather momentum and survive for so many
sessions.  I hope it continues for quite some time.  A special guest has
hinted at checking in with a K3 next weekend.  That should be enjoyable.
Unfortunately said op lives in my dead zone.  He may need a relay to get
his SN registered in our log.  Please keep an ear open if I am unable to
hear his call.  I expect it sounds like so many other Elecraft rigs so we
all shall know its distinctive note.
    73,
Kevin.  KD5ONS (Net Control Operator 5th Class)

Kevin,
You can do both! We have an HFPack outing on Sunday after Pacificon; it
would be great for you to run the net QRV from the park.
73,
Leigh/WA5ZNU

Elecraft CW Net Recognition -- Addenda

Kevin Rock
In reply to this post by Kevin Rock
Good Afternoon,
While standing in the shower this morning I realized I was in trouble.
I had left a most important Elecraft person off my list of thanks.  Many
of you have used his services in building your rig.  Karl, NM7N, was the
guy who kindly took me to the airport and picked me up when I returned.
He also allowed me to park my scruffy truck in front of his house.
Neighbors asked about it thinking there may be some criminal element in
the neighborhood.  No, just a friend of mine :)  He never did mention
their reply.  Thank you Karl!  Both for your help in transport and in the
many phone calls about circuits, antennas, and operating opportunities.
It is surprising what Elecraft has done for all of us.  Providing rigs
to build with such great specs is only the beginning.  The Reflector is a
nice way to learn about others' experiences with their building and
maintenance as well as the various techniques used in field or shack
operations.  I've developed some very fine friendships over the years both
through email and on air activities.  Not knowing I could not run a net
was a good starting point.  I've gotten a little better but I am quite a
way from becoming a 4th class operator!
Once again: Thank you Karl and thank you Elecraft.
       73,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Control Operator 5th Class as ever)
