Current schedule is SUNDAY 1800 UTC 14.235 MHz
Today was the third Sunday in a row that there was strong digital activity on 14.235 and 14.240. I called for the net half-way in between, but hear nobody (of course it is Easter). Shall we start moving up from there? Any suggestions? Hi Windy - Yes, that is the digital guys "channel", they keep a digital signal there 7/24. Moving would be advisable, above 300 might be the best choice. and Glenn ON4WIX wrote: 14230-14240 is the subband reserved for digital modes here in IARU Region 1. I also think moving above 14.300 would be helpful. If anyone can advise on a frequency that might be clear of other nets at that time, we can try it next week. Otherwise, I'll have to pick a frequency, and I'm sure it will be busy. :-| Thanks all. Well 14230-14235 is the international SSTV frequency. You will be VERY unpopular there! 73 Dave G3YMC |

Jim -- are those other radio forums also on Sundays?
That sounds logical, being a vacant hour in an established watering hole. If it gets muddy, we can make a move from there. Is there agreement or disagreement? The frequency you were trying (14,235 khz) is right smack in
the middle of slow scan TV. That's probably what you were fighting. Much lower would be better, but then you probably exclude many non-extras. So, I would suggest you go to the very top of the band, maybe around 14,345 khz. You could move down from there, subject to QRM, but watch out for 14,336 khz, which is where the county-hunters hang out. Somewhere in that top 10 khz portion of the band I suspect you have a good chance of finding a clear spot. Maybe someone else knows if there is anything else up there I'm not aware of. The net usually wraps up with an hour, often less. Is there another Icom net running Sundays at 1700Z on a different frequency? I don't know whether there is any other net activity on 14.329 MHz prior to 1900Z. Windy, correction
14.316 Icom is 1700 typically not long 14.329 Flex is 1900 14.329 TenTec is 2130 Yes, they are other radio forums on Sunday. One of these frequencies should work. Thanks Jim.
If Icom net seems to be clear (as you imply) by 1800, then we start then on 14.316. Then we have unlimited time. I'll make the final announcement after any further replies. I've heard favorable replies and nothing against, so let's start at 1800 on 14.316 starting this coming Sunday. Hope to CU.
